Christmas in July

Earlier this week, me and one of my good friends was talking about Christmas in July in an IRC chat I often frequent, and he said that it was a very foreign concept to him and never heard of it until recent years. Christmas in July is usually celebrated in the southern hemisphere (I.E.: Most of South America, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea et al) from what I recall mainly due to it being Winter there.

With that aside, does anyone here celebrate Christmas in July or think that it's a foreign concept? If so, do you guys/gals do anything festive 5 months earlier than actual Christmas?

For me, I usually like to play me a few holiday-themed ROM hacks and homebrew games as a quick way to celebrate.

This year, even Nickelodeon and its sister channels (at least in the USA) are getting into the festive spirit on July 25th. I remember when Cartoon Network pulled off a similar stunt back in 2002 or 2003 (can't exactly remember, I was in elementary school back then).
